Gentlemen:
I would like your help in getting the word out to all competitors for the Hawaii Senior Olympics track meet that the venue has changed.

UH informed me on Monday that we would not be able to use Cooke Field on the 1st due to the rescheduling of the field resurfacing project – it now is supposed to start on October 13, and finish sometime around thanksgiving, and while we will not in any way bother the project the attorneys do not want anyone anywhere near the site during the project.  I even have to move my trailer out of Cooke Field, and take down the camera poles, which I will be doing this weekend.

I sent a note to Dick Townsend, who is acting AD at Kaiser HS, and he has informed me that Kaiser’s field is NOT being used that afternoon-evening, so we can have it for our event.  He has put in a request form which has reserved it for us.  I would like your assistance in re-evaluating the schedule of events to see how we can=2 0improve the flow of activity that afternoon, but I think we should be able to manage just fine.  We will do all events at Kaiser except the discus, hammer and javelin, which we will do at UH on Sunday at noon.  I will bring the timing equipment to Kaiser – may even bring the trailer.  May also bring Bob Martin over from Big Island to help me.  But as of now it looks like a complete GO at Kaiser on Saturday, November 1 at 3 pm.   We will not do the steeplechase.

FYI, I will mail a post card to all athletes who sign up alerting them of the venue change.  But if you could help spread the word, I would appreciate it – I want to make sure all persons know about it well in advance.

Thanks, guys.
